VITO is actively involved in FAIRMODE, the Forum for Air Quality Modelling in Europe.
VITO leads the Cross Cutting Task (CT8) on Exposure and Exceedance modelling and is co-lead of CT3: forecast and CT4 micro scale modelling and CT6 near real time assessment with sensors.
The FAIRMODE Composite Mapping platform was developed by VITO together with JRC to support modelling benchmarking and inter-comparison activities, and to trigger discussions within the European modelling community. The platform is being developed further to support emission modelling and monitoring network design.
